About Jiho Choi
Jiho Choi is a South Korean jeweller and metalsmith. He comes from an engineering background, studying at Hanyang University. Choi started jewellery making as an apprentice in Korea before studying at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS. While at NSCADU, he found an interest in kinetic objects. His works are interactive, generating satisfaction and playfulness to for the viewer.
Jiho Choi focuses on sculptural, minimal home goods and household objects. Working primarily in brass and copper, he creates lighting, tableware, and functional pieces with clean lines and subtle shifts in surface and form.
Many pieces incorporate kinetic and interactive elements revealed through touch, movement, and use, transforming everyday objects into refined, intentional forms that are quiet, direct, and built to live with.
About Kate Tessier
Kate Tessier is an Industrial Designer and the founder of Kilowatt Kate, a collaborative curatorial craft and design practice focused on lighting, material reclamation, and experimental generative product development. She has been Senior Designer-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto since 2023. With two decades of experience in product design, Tessier develops both functional and decorative hardware, custom architectural lighting, and locally produced craft and design. Through these projects, she combines curatorial practice with hands-on design. Tessier’s work, meticulous material exploration blends with collaborative design, emphasizing functionality, aesthetics, and sustainable approaches in contemporary practice.
